I am a beginner still, but I started buying wood from Dan in 2020. I appreciate being able to call, tell Dan what I am thinking, visit him in the shop and he runs through all different kinds of pieces that work for my project. I’ve used his pieces to make live edge sofa tables, a coffee table, lamp bases, end tables and currently working on a table top. The variety of woods, sizes available and his willingness to share advice keeps me coming back. All the live edge wood in the photos came from Dan. Other pieces were sourced elsewhere. Great person, great business owner.

Dan’s Custom Sawmill is a great place to get any kind of wood for all your projects. I never fail to get what I need,along with some good advice. Very knowledgeable. He even gave me two pieces of wood to take home. Found the one I want and said to just return the other when I was done with it. We have been returning customers for 3 to 4 years now and it is a must-see for anyone who loves to do woodworking projects.

Dan's Custom Sawmill is, hands down, the best in the Midwest. His selection is vast, his prices are extremely fair, and he is never afraid to chat. I have purchased live-edge slabs from Dan several times and referred countless friends to him, all of whom have had a very pleasant experience. The slabs are all kiln dried, so I have been able to start working on projects immediately, which is crucial for my busy schedule. While checking out his selection, Dan has always answered my questions and given advice on whatever project I am working on. While he is very knowledgeable and helpful, I never feel pressured to purchase anything. If you are looking for anything wood related, check out his selection. At the worst, you don't find anything you like but you meet an awesome guy in the process!

I just needed a small piece of hardwood to patch a table leg. Dan helped identify the species I needed then sifted through a stack of cutoffs to find the perfect small slab I needed. For any woodworker, I highly recommend a visit to the sawmill. You'll be amazed at the amount and variety of wood available for whatever project you're working on and you'll not find a more friendly atmosphere anywhere!

Hidden jewel of Bellevue. The property is so natural and gives you a backwoods feel in the city. Dan is very nice, personable and knows his see selfmade business. He quickly/precisely leveled what was a stump from the citywide July2021 storm into a nice smooth piece which will be made into a 1 of a kind ⏰. Kudos to Dan's Custom Sawmill😊

Love Dan’s Custom Sawmill. Got another piece of cedar to make another table to complete my living room set. Also snagged some pine to make shelves. Sanding and polyurethane getting done today. Dan’s knowledge just blows me away. I tell him what I’m want and he tells me how to do it. Five stars plus ⭐️!!!!
