Went in to pick up a gun I ordered on line. I am handicapped so I had to use the AAFES wheelchair to get back to the firearms department. Sales rep named Joel helped me. He couldn’t have been nicer. Showed me the gun I ordered, which was much heavier than expected. Told me he had a lite version which I purchased instead. Assisted me with the paperwork and wheeled me out when we were done as the chair was taxing to push. Thanks to the folks at the gun department I had a very pleasant experience.

4 stars for the Offutt Air Force Base Exchange! Why, you ask, with such a low inventory? Well, let’s just say shopping here is like a scavenger hunt... without a treasure at the end! No toilet plungers, rice cookers, or supplements in the nutrition section, and if you're looking for kids' clothing, especially for ages 8-12, good luck finding anything—size 14 jeans for boys were as rare as a unicorn! But despite the empty shelves, I had a great experience. The store is clean, not too crowded, and best of all, the staff is amazing. Big shoutout to Sally, who made my day with her friendliness and help, not to mention offering the credit card! Sally, you and your team are rocking it. Thanks for bringing the sunshine to a shop with a few missing clouds!

Went to get a haircut at the BX barbershop yesterday. Pulled my ticket and sat down in front of the TV. TV channel was set on a basketball game of two teams I don't follow. I looked around, and no one seemed to be watching, heads in their phones. I stood up and asked if anyone would mind if I changed the channel. No one objected, so I switched the channel to a "news" channel to see what was happening in the world. As I sat down, one of the barbers told me I had to watch something else, that the Base Commander had a policy that only "sports" channels were allowed to be watched and that news channels were prohibited. I thought she was kidding, she wasn't. She insisted that I change the channel. I told her I would leave before I would stay in a place that didn't allow me to watch the news to see what was going on in the world. I left. I hope the barber was misinformed because I can't think of any rationale to restrict watching the news in the base barbershop. Of all the places in the world, the military members, who are fighting for this country's freedom, should have the freedom to watch whatever channel the group waiting agrees on, news, sports, comedy, etc. That shouldn't be a big deal, they are all adults. I never thought I would see the day when the military member's access to news would be censored. I will not return to the BX barbershop.

Why do you close so early? 6pm?!?! Most Exchanges are open until at least 8pm. People work all day, get off, then go to shop but you are closed. So your business model is to give Walmart and surrounding stores your prime customers.? You are losing a lot of money with these terrible hours! If Exchanges in the frozen arctic of Alaska can stay open until 8pm or later I think your employees can handle it in this decent area.

A waste of time there being one. Hardly anybody goes to it anyway. Why would you have a base exchange when in order to get to it you have to drive past a target a Walmart and many other places where you can buy cheaper items.

The pricing and limited selection is no better than going to Walmart or shopping online and I find that frustrating when this is supposed to be for military service members.
