I had a possessed washing machine. It was under warranty. Sadly the warranty company was bought up, changed procedures and left both Shaefer's and myself in a pickle. No matter what Shaefer's tried, my machine did not work. I was done. I appreciate that the warranty company was holding us all hostage so to speak, but I needed a working machine. I called the store, talked to Kevin and he made it right. A new machine was delivered that same day! That is why you buy local from a company with a great reputation. It wasn't fun, but they backed me up and kept their word. Thank you Kevin and Thank you Shaefer's.

Disclaimer: I don't like leaving bad reviews for any company. In no way am I implying intent, or saying that anyone working at Schaefer's is a bad person. But I had a really bad experience, and I think it's important to share experiences like this in hopes that it encourages accountability and better business practices. As a middle class customer my wallet carries very little power, so all I really have is word-of-mouth honesty. Long story short, we bought a faulty Asko dishwasher from Schaefer's in 2022 for around $1100 with a 2 year warranty. It would work fine for several months, and then stop working at random. A service tech would come out, try different things, and get it working again, and then it would stop working again a few months later. This was the pattern for 2 years and the issue was never fully resolved. While we appreciate the efforts of the service techs, ultimately the dishwasher stopped working again just a few months after our 2 year warranty ended. Now there's nothing else that can be done for us. When I called Schaefer's (service and sales departments) to discuss options, we were given sympathy for our bad luck but told that our options are to either pay for another attempt at repair and new parts or purchase another dishwasher. I was told that others are having problems with the model we bought and it's not even on their sales floor anymore. They said "they don't things like they used to" and recommended I get the extended warranty next time. Wait, what? Why would you be selling products that you know are going to need an extended warranty? How is it right to sell appliances that both sales and service acknowledge are unlikely to last? I'm supposed to risk eating the cost of faulty products you chose to put on your sales floor? If you know this dishwasher is faulty and you're not even selling it anymore, you can't provide me with a credit to replace it now? When I said that I'd have to be shopping elsewhere based on this experience, they wished me good luck with my next purchase and gave no effort to retain me as a customer by finding a solution to our problem. The people at Schaefer's are kind and easy to work with, but this is a 1 star review because they sold me a dishwasher that did not work and failed to resolve the problem. After spending $1,100 dollars and 2 years of hassle I'm back to square one - shopping for a new dishwasher.

The problem with Schaefers isn’t the sales team, it’s their service after the sale, which is terrible. This isn’t the first time I have experienced this with them either, which surprised me I went back there however had hoped it had gotten better than 10 years ago. So I recently spent over $10,000.00 on new kitchen appliances and a stackable washer/dryer. The delivery didn’t go as planned but I made it work on their time. The range didn’t fit right because we weren’t informed this range had no clearance for a floor plug so now we have to have an electrician move the plug to the wall. There were miscommunications with the other appliances we purchased and paid extra specifically for the options they had, which come to find out don’t really work in our advantage so the extra money spent was somewhat of a waste. The biggest problem is the delivery guys were only given a 4 foot electrical cord for the washer/dryer and we needed a longer one in order for it to sit closer to the wall. I spoke to Schaefer’s on several occasions and was finally told if I wanted a longer cord, I’d have to buy one for $20! Twenty freaking dollars and I spent ten thousand dollars in their store! I couldn’t just exchange the four foot cord for a six foot cord! I was told I’d have to buy it. I was in such disbelief that a $20 electrical cord was worth losing a customer over. Apparently it is because I will NEVER purchase at Schaeffer’s again because of it!

Excellent customer service!! I purchased a TV in 2022, and they talked me into their extended warranty. When my TV quit working, I was worried I'd end up somehow paying for a new TV. To my surprise, the warranty process was smooth, rather quick, and I always had access to someone to answer my questions. These guys do a great job!

The original 5 year old Samsung refrigerator ice maker quit which it had numerous times. With encouragement of Schaeffer’s employees, we had purchased an extended warranty so we were given ALL the $$$ back toward another refrigerator. We chose a Whirlpool side by side, but when it was plugged in, it made three LOUD tones from the compressor. One, a VERY high pitched tone like fingernails on a chalkboard. We asked for Schaeffer’s to accept a return and they graciously did! The new Bespoke Samsung was just delivered. Quiet and beautiful. Schaeffer’s has gone above and beyond. PS We bought another extended warranty. It’s not Schaeffer’s fault appliances do not last for long.

just the best in the west - vast selection, fair prices & knowledgeable attentive staff, in-house installation staff - superior service - Jim knocked the ball out of the park with a timely & pro install of our dishwasher- - when you shop around you'll be lucky to find any staff on the floor at the big box stores & no hope they'll have a clue to answer any questions - THANKS to Schaefers for being our hometown store - let's buy local !

They will go above and beyond to make sure you are completely satisfied, or have any issues. They also make the whole process actually enjoyable. Kevin T is quite possibly the friendliest and most squared away Sales Associate I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with...give this man a raise!
