I've recently taken 3 "Tools 101" courses at Perennial, each led by the incredible Brad. He spends a lot of time ensuring that we all understand how to safely turn on and off and operate each tool (I did separate classes with the table saw, router, and power saws). He will walk you through the parts, how it works, do a demo, then set up each tool for the participants in the class to try, so you're getting real hands-on experience. His knowledge of these tools (and general woodworking, construction, and carpentry) is extensive, but he teaches in a way that won't go over your head, make you feel overwhelmed, or feel laborious. He's charming, inviting, welcomes any and all questions, makes you feel welcome whether you're a complete novice or have experience with the tools. Couldn't recommend these classes enough!

Excellent craft studio and community art space. They do so many things, one cannot list them all in review. I've taken classes on how to use power tools, sewing machine classes, I've donated art supplies, tools, clothes, and gone shopping there. It's an outstanding organization.

Signed up for the up-cycled glass planter/terrarium on Dabble. After being about 30 minutes late the first class, Theresa was amazing about getting me caught up with the rest of the class on marking and cutting the templates, and I was off! The rest of the class went quite well learning to smooth sharp edges on the glass, cover the edges in copper foil, and ultimately solder all the pieces together. Theresa is one of the most pleasant people I've ever been around, and does an amazing job explaining and demonstrating the project. I will most certainly be signing up for other classes, especially ones I thought I'd never be interested in.

Love this place! They have literally a little bit of everything. Buttons, yarn, old CDs, etc - anything you might need to make a unique craft. They have a fantastic mission and are worth supporting.
