Porter Funiture is principally a custom furniture maker. They make furniture to your design using their wood furniture expertise. There are pieces in their show room for sale and to show examples of the fine wood work that they do. Go see them! For us, our project consisted of reusing wood from a 1960s cabin. We took the cabin down and saved sections of walls to repurpose as much as possible. Nine wall sections were saved and we dismantled the sections. We had spoken to Brett Porter 2 years prior to having the walls back home and dismantled. We then worked with Brett on a design for a dining table in the new home build where the cabin once existed. It turned out well beyond our expectations! Thank you Porter's!!

Porter furniture created a custom table for our family, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. I reached out to Brett with a few inspiration photos and he quickly caught my vision and ran with it. Our new table is stunning, and I have no doubt that it will stand up to our family for decades to come. Photo is of our table before it was stained - it only got better! We recently used Porter furniture to building a custom dining table and we could not be more pleased with the table. We met with several furniture makers in the KC area and Brett seemed like the right fit for us. We had a very specific vision and from our descriptions and a picture we found on the internet he created something that will last a lifetime. It is a strikingly unique table that fits our home and personalities. Porter furniture listened to our ideas and brought them to reality. He had us out to the shop a couple of times during the process to look at the work and make decisions about small details that really mattered to us. His personal touch was much appreciated. I should also mention that the price was very reasonable as was the timeline. Many other companies were several hundred dollars more for "customizable stock designs" and had completion timelines well into late spring/early summer 2023. Porter furniture had a fair price, a completely custom process, and from order date to delivery date was 8 weeks. We have a few more projects in mind and will definitely be using Porter Furniture!

My review is not regarding purchasing furniture. On Monday, I was almost in a car accident at the corner of Raytown Trafficway and 63rd Street. A young lady hit a light pole trying to avoid hitting a truck that backed into oncoming traffic. She had small children. A man, I assume was the owner, came and offered to allow her children come into the store while she took care of business because it was chilly. We just don’t see that every day. What a blessing.❤️

Brett was extremely accommodating, meeting with us on the weekend to look at his showroom and delivering our table during the holidays. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work, which really shows in the craftsmanship and quality of his furniture. Our new table and bench are the perfect fit for our space. We felt extremely happy about purchasing a unique dining room set where our family will share many meals and conversation, while supporting a local family business. We came to them with our own barn wood from my wife's grandparents farm. We wanted a custom kitchen table with all the nicks, dents, nail holes, and sentiment left visible. They delivered what we wanted. We needed it before Christmas, and it was delivered on time 2 days before Xmas. Brett never overpromised a thing and was as real and honest as a person can get. They are now our go to folks for any custom furniture piece from here on out.
