I purchased a thermo-true door @ Dillman upton. Branden my sales rep was fantastic! Explained everything in detail. Returned ALL my calls promptly (which is rare!). The door came in earlier than I thought. He set up a installer date. Installers were fantastic! They were very detailed, neat, on time, and installed perfectly! This is the place to buy your doors and windows. See Brandon and you won't have any problems. FIVE STARS. I'm very happy I chose them.

Ordered some cedar siding first week of June. Actually took a sample piece to them. Salesman Paul took my order and told me product would be in about a week. Several weeks and calls later I was told by Paul that he had to make a minimum order from his source and that he was going to get with his purchasing agent to make up the order. Several weeks later ( now August) received a call that my siding was in the store. Went and picked up only to find out that Paul ordered wrong product. Returned to the store and was told by other salesman ( Paul was on vacation)I could not return the (wrong) siding because it was special order. After some discussion was refunded my money and was told by Paul over the phone that he would find the right product from one of his sources. Weeks later(now September) received a quote for the right siding. The siding I originally ordered is the same size as the right siding just notched different. The original quote was for 2 dollars a linear foot. The second quote was$ 125.00 to set up the mill and $11.69 a linear foot . Like I said it is the same material and same size as the wrong siding they originally ordered. Unbelievable that they are trying to make up for their mistake on my wallet. Told them no thanks . I can go directly to the mill myself and pay less . Which is what I will do. Dillman Upton used to be a good place to do business not so much these days.

Always have a good experience when going here. Lumber is often better here than with the big box stores. I would have given them 6 stars but they always charge me whenever I buy something. Staff has always been excellent.

Used them in the past for some projects and really liked them but was recently quoted more than double the price of what northville lumber was able to provide for the same lumber.

A wonderful place for home improvment. This 100 year old family-owned company can do design and construction and they have a friendly staff. Home improvement can be expensive. Don't worry, they will work with you on costs. They make big projects less scary. There were no "hard sales" there.

Ordered Andersen windows and patio door from D&U in Q1 2021 for my remodel. Happy with the product and the ordering process was smooth. Nice showroom space as well. Had to deal with several delays on the windows and while this is in no way the fault the D&U communication to me about delays was very poor; I basically had to actively manage their sales reps through most of this process to keep things moving along. The patio door was ordered incorrectly two times (ended up keeping the second one at a nice discount, I do appreciate that). When the windows did finally arrive (again, not saying the delay was the fault of D&U, 2021 was crazy times) the install crew (Kurt) was great and did very nice work installing everything including some minor exterior brickwork. Last point is on the screens for the 5 windows; it's been ~12 months and I only have 2 of them. Again, there was a long backorder timing BUT I discovered when the windows were delivered to me in Q3 2021 that the screens were never ordered when the window order was placed ~6 months prior. Very bad communication from the sales staff on this (trying to cut them some slack as they seemed swamped every time I was in the store). I highly recommend putting in place a modern online customer portal application so people can easily review large orders, check on order status, etc. and not have to rely on a small and very busy sales staff to do all this communication themselves. Not sure if a digital warehouse inventory system exists but that would also help smooth out your operations (when my first 2 screens did arrive they sat in the warehouse for a few weeks and were only found when I came into the store asking about them). I have a feeling my last 3 screens are in the same situation. Undecided if I will use D&U for future business; I am planning to purchase a front door system and more replacement windows later this year.
